What is Afterglow?

Afterglow Definition (Websters, 2023) 1: a glow remaining where a light has disappeared 2: a pleasant effect or feeling that lingers after something is done, experienced, or achieved "basking in the afterglow of success"

When looking for suitable names for my virtual psychotherapy practice, several options seemed close to what I wanted, but they did not completely hit the mark. I was looking for something that encompassed the lasting effect that comes from self discovery & processing challenging emotions.

Life changes all the time and therapy is not always possible on a continuous basis, but the aspects that you learn about yourself and how to regulate your nervous system can have an afterglow long after leaving the therapy office. This is what I want for you too!

Afterglow to me signifies the lingering impact of the hard work that is done during therapy both with a therapist and on your own. You've ALWAYS had this glow inside you. You were born this way... so says Lady Gaga - and me too!

Digging in deep can help you to find and nourish your inner light again. It's time for your afterglow!
